Paul Matthew Phillips of Indianapolis, IN, died a peaceful death on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Born on September 16, 1962 he had just turned 55 years old.
Originally born in Scott County (Oneida) Tennessee, Paul moved with his family to Indianapolis in 1963. He spent his life working in the community in and around Indianapolis. He worked for the State of Indiana for a time, but for his final career he chose to be a truck driver following in the footsteps of his Dad and two of his older brothers. He was known to be a man who could fix anything, especially cars, and gladly lent a hand to help anyone in need.
He loved to hunt and fish and was excellent at both. He taught his daughters, grandsons and granddaughter how to do both and took great pride in the fact that they could out fish anyone around. His youngest daughter is an excellent marksman, as well. He participated in many fishing tournaments with his brothers and hunted every year with them, as well. He was an outdoorsman who felt at home in the woods.
He was a family man and loved spending time with family more than life itself. Everyone who knew him, especially his family and close friends, knew they could count on him for anything. He often had a smile on his face and a story in his heart to tell. His energy lit up a room every time he walked in the door.
He is survived by three daughters, Shoncie Marie Bollinger (Jess Bollinger), Tiffany Denee Phillips (TJ McGinley), and Rhiannon Nickole Phillips; three grandsons, Dilon and Jonathon Livingston and Connor Bollinger; one granddaughter, Maquinzie Phillips; his girlfriend of seventeen years, Char Elliot; his three brothers, Tommy (Sylvia), Jimmy (Theresa) and Harley (Jeannie) Phillips; his two sisters, Doris Kinnaird and Page Phillips (Dennis McCullough); 17 nieces and nephews; 27 Great nieces and nephews; and more friends than there are numbers to count. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Maynard Harrison Phillips (Died March 12, 1972) and Grace Travelin Phillips (Died April 19, 2010), his brother Mickey Phillips (Died August 19, 2017), his sister Fonda Kratoska (Died December 13, 2016), his brother-in-law Lowell Kinnaird (Died May 7, 2014) and his two nephews Jeffery Thomas Phillips (Died March 23, 2013) and Mark Phillips (died September 28, 1986).
He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
