Phillip Victor Johnson, son of the late Pauline Robert Clements and Brady Johnson, was born August 22nd, 1955 in Indianapolis, IN.
Phillip received his education in the Indianapolis Public School District. He attended IPS School #26 and Arsenal Technical High School. As a young man Phillip became a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, where he remained a member for 20+ years.
Phillip enlisted in the United States Navy December 14th, 1972 and was honorably discharged August 27th, 1974. While a member of the United States Navy he received the National Defense Service Award, and a certification in printing. A certification he would use working night and day to provide for his family.
As Phillip began his venture in civilian life he earned an Associate Degree in Arts on May 6th, 2006 from Indiana State University. Phillip became a printer in demand for several printing companies throughout Indianapolis. He was well-known for his articulation, preciseness and work ethic. On his rare days off you could find him at home with his family watching a western movie and drinking a beer.
Phillip was a great father, family man, and friend. For those who knew Phil they knew he always provided for his family, and never failed to have chocolate for his grandkids and himself. He will be dearly missed.
Phillip was preceded in death by his mother Pauline Roberts Clements, his father Brady Johnson, and his infant son Phillip Victor Johnson II.
Phillip leaves to lovingly cherish his memory the mothers of her children Ersie Johnson and Ristoria Perry (Paul) 6 children, Brian James Johnson, Denise Lynette Jordan (Ricardo), Dennis James Johnson, Kiyana Tichelle Davis (Phillip), James Perry, Jasmine Chardae’ Johnson; 14 grandchildren DeMariante, Daizhon, Ristoria a United States Marine, Elijah, DeNishia, Teyon, Ja’Niya, Phillip Davis III, Jatoria, Rayvion, Jeremiah, Desiree, Phillip Johnson III, Kori; a great-grandchild DeMariyae Nalls; a brother David Earl Clements; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a number of unofficially adopted children and grandchildren, and friends.
