Phyllis Marie Lavan

Phyllis Marie LaVan passed away peacefully on August 19th, 2018, at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Phyllis was the oldest of 4 children born in Honolulu, Hawaii. The family moved to San Diego in 1957 and Phyllis eventually moved to Bloomington, Indiana, where she met her husband of 20 years, Harry LaVan. Phyllis and Harry worked for many years in the Telecommunication industry and eventually retired in Indianapolis where Phyllis spent time working at the local library and as a volunteer for the Indiana House Rabbit Society.

Phyllis was a very special lady who had a spirit of giving to help others that were less fortunate than herself. She especially loved rabbits and was an advocate against the mistreatment of all animals.

She is survived by her husband Harry LaVan in Indianapolis, IN, her brothers Frank Siu (Cindi) in Carlsbad, CA, David Siu (Wendy) in San Juan Capistrano, CA, her sister, Sylvia Siu in Dallas, TX and her beloved nephews (Nelson and Parker) and nieces (Jessica and Madyson).

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6th, 2018, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services located at 5215 N. Shadeland Ave, Lawrence, IN 46226.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 7th, 2018, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church at 3354 W. 30th St. Indianapolis, IN 46222.
