Ralph Irvin Phillips

Ralph Irvin Phillips, age 72, of Anderson, passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2021. He was born on March 3, 1949 to the late Raymond and Mary Ellen (Davis) Phillips.

Ralph was a retired US Marine Vet, having served in the Vietnam war. He was a member of the VFW and the Eagles for many years. Riding motorcycles was a huge passion of Ralph’s. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association and would ride whenever he could. Ralph retired from Chrysler after working there most of his life. He and his family were all part owners of Phillips Motors in North Anderson. Ralph was a mellow, quiet man. He wouldn’t say much, yet you could sit and talk to him all day. He loved to tinker with lawnmowers and sit in his pole barn. He loved to watch Nascar with his family, spend time with his grandchildren, and was an honorable family man. Everyone that knew him loved him. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ralph is survived by his children Lisa Thompson, Thomas Burton (Angie), and Heath Burton (Carrie); 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings Ralena Jones, Mike Phillips (Diane), and Joe Pat Phillips (Natalie); several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Francis Barnes.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife D. Temple Phillips, parents listed above, and brother-in-law Carl Edward Barnes.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 10-12pm with a funeral service immediately following at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson. Burial will take place at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria, IN.
