Ramonia M. Chapin, a beloved resident of Anderson, IN, passed away on August 12, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on July 14,1935, in the same town where she spent her entire life, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering kindness.

Ramonia's journey began in Anderson, where she attended Pendleton Heights High School and graduated with the Class of 1953. She dedicated most of her professional years to working in the retail industry, where she touched the lives of many with her warm smile and caring demeanor.

Described as a loving and caring mother, Ramonia's family was at the center of her world. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and always made it a point to attend all of their sporting events, showing unwavering support and love in everything they pursued. Her family-oriented nature extended beyond her immediate relatives, as she never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, embodying a true spirit of altruism.

Ramonia's passions and interests were diverse, reflecting her vibrant personality. An avid sports fan, she particularly enjoyed cheering for the Dodgers and baseball. In her younger years, she actively participated in various sports such as softball, volleyball, swimming, and bowling, instilling a love for athletics in her own children and creating lasting memories filled with joy and laughter.

Aside from her dedication to her family, Ramonia was a proud member of Main St. Church of God for the majority of her life. Her faith was a guiding light that illuminated her path, bringing comfort and solace in times of joy and sorrow.

Ramonia is survived by her children George Chapin (Teresa) and Rodger Chapin (Diane); daughter-in-law Dianne Chapin; grandchildren Bruce Chapin (Sonya), Wayne Chapin (Jackie), Courtney Chapin, Kelsey Bendel (Daniel), Jillian Chapin, Sara Chapin, Jessie Chapin, Anna King, Anetta Cooper (Dustin), and Laura Hammons (Chris); 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her children Glenn Chapin and Jane Johnson; parents James Alexander and Minnie (Skinner) Webb; and special friend Dorothy Meyer.

In the coming days, family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation service scheduled for August 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM, both held at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services - Anderson, 504 W 9th St, Anderson, IN, 46016.

Ramonia M. Chapin's profound impact on those around her will forever be cherished and remembered. Her legacy of love, selflessness, and unwavering support will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, knowing that her kindness has left an indelible mark on the world.
