Richard Allen Palmer, Sr. 55, passed away at home surrounded by his family, after an extended illness. He was born to Jack Palmer and Shirley MacFadden in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina on July 25, 1962.
After graduating high school, he joined the United States Navy serving for four years, and then entered the Navy Reserves. He worked for many years as a certified welder, most recently at MOFAB. He enjoyed fishing, outdoors, and music.
Left to treasure Richard’s memory is his wife, Kelly Baker Palmer; children, Danielle Martinez, Richard (Ashley) Palmer, Jr., Teri Palmer, James (Jessica) Martinez, Stephanie Martinez, Kerri Palmer, and Hailey Palmer; step-children, Kristen (Shane) Rastle and Jonathon Baker; siblings, Curtis Palmer and Marcia (Scott) Crose; nine grandchildren; one nephew; in-laws, Ralph and Margaret Rector; and special buddy, Scooter.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and his three dogs, Otis, Maggie, and Ernie.
Memorial. Service with military honors will be at 2pm on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Falls Park (Shelter House), Falls Park Drive, Pendleton, Indiana 46064, with a celebration of life to follow.
Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services assisted the family with arrangements.
