Richard Arvato Graves Jr., 66, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 21, 2018. He was born on October 5, 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Richard Arvato Graves Sr. and Elizabeth (Stein) Graves. Richard served in the United States Army from February 1969 to January 1972. He served as a Corporal, during the Vietnam War, and along with an honorable discharge, he was awarded the following medals: National Defense Service, Good Conduct, Marksman for M16, and Sharpshooter for M14.
Richard worked as an electrician for the City of Indianapolis, Waste Water Treatment Plant for approximately 20 years.
Richard was a member of The Way Church in Indianapolis.
Richard was a people-person kind of guy. He would talk to anyone about anything. And when the topic ended up on something that he was passionate about, you couldn’t get a word in edgewise. He could always be found sitting on his front porch drinking his coffee. But most of all, he loved his home, listening to his jazz music, and his family, spending time with them and harassing them.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 19 years, Robin Diane (Hostetler) Graves; his beautiful daughters, Addielachelle Sanders and Courtney Marie Graves; and his beloved granddaughter, Angelica Marie Sanders.
He is preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at his residence. Cremation Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.
