Rita M. Shetler, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away after an extended illness on September 14, 2024, at Maple Park Village in Westfield, IN. She was born on August 27, 1950, in Parkersburg, WV. She most recently resided in Noblesville, IN. Rita lived a life full of love and adventure. 

Rita is survived by her son, Mike (Brandy) Shetler; stepsons, Dave (Debra) Shetler and Todd (Robin) Shetler; and her beloved grandchildren: Kaycee, Lainey, Levi, Abigail, Andy, Todd, Victoria, Reece, and Addison. 

Rita was preceded in death by her son, Derrick Shetler, a loss that deeply impacted her life. 

Rita was a dedicated bookkeeper, known for her strong work ethic and attention to detail. Outside of her career, Rita found joy in fishing, bowling, and cheering for the Chicago Bears. Her vibrant spirit and nurturing heart left a lasting impact on everyone she met. 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rita’s life during a visitation on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by a service at 12:30 PM at Legacy Funeral Home, located at 5215 N. Shadeland Ave., Lawrence, IN 46226. 

In honoring Rita’s memory, we encourage all to share their stories and celebrate the joy she brought into our lives.
