Robert Allen Clifton, 75, originally from Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on 03/28/2025 at Carmel Health and Living in Carmel, IN.

Born in Indianapolis, IN on 10/04/1949, Robert graduated from Pike High School in 1968 and then went on to obtain an associate’s degree in electrical engineering.

Robert loved making art and working with his hands. He was an artist himself and worked as a studio assistant and business manager for the German artist Jurgen Peters. After working several years in sales, he was a building code inspector for the city of Indianapolis, and he finished his working career as a construction project manager.

He also loved science, more specifically aerospace science. He would always watch Nova and This Old House. He was a huge Indianapolis Colts fan and never missed a game. He was also an avid fan of the Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Indians, and never missed an Indy 500 or Brickyard 400 broadcast.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother Edna Josephine Clifton (Pavy), his father Amert Allen Clifton, his eldest sister Judith A. Catania, and Brother-In-Law Richard Hobson. He is survived by his daughter, Stacey Pamela Clifton-Rogers (Brandin). His sister, Patricia L. Hobson. His brother-in-law, Ray Catania. His nephew, William Pryor (Tracy). His nieces Carol Lively (Patrick), Tammy Hobson Hazel (Jim), Julie Hobson (Mark), Theresa Hobson Moore (Jeffery). His great-nephews Cody Hazel (Josh) and Zach Pryor (Cheyenne). His great-nieces Holly Lively Rogers (Chris), Jessica Hazel (Josh), Tabitha Thompson (Autumn), Hope Williams (Evan) and his great-great-nephews Logan Rogers, Landon Williams and Gavin Parson, and great-great-nieces Lexi Parson and Haylee Rogers.

Robert will be remembered for his charismatic personality, his compassion for animals, especially horses and cats, and his humor. He will be missed by all who know him. The family would like to thank the nursing and administrative staff at Carmel Health and Living Community, the nursing staff at Provider Partners, the nursing staff at Optum, the dentists and staff at Aria Care Partners, and the entire IU Heath Hospice team for taking such good care of Dad during his almost 12 years of residence at Carmel Health and Living Community.

A celebration of life will take place at the Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services (Lawrence Location) on April 11, 2025. The visitation will be from 2 pm – 3 pm and celebration of life will be from 3 pm – 4 pm.
