Robert J. Draga, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 7, 2021. He was born on February 9, 1928 in Duquesne, PA to John and Lydia (Bene) Draga. He served in the US Navy from 1945 to 1948. Robert worked for Indiana Bell as a Cable Splicer for 35 years, retiring in 1985. Robert was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and Telephone Pioneers. He volunteered for over 25 years at both the Indianapolis Zoo and the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. Robert enjoyed carving, gardening and history. He was a troop leader for the Cub and Boy Scouts at St. Lawrence, along with coaching CYO football.
Robert is survived by his wife, Rosemary Draga (Christ); sons, David M. Draga and William K. Draga; daughters, Claudia J. Grantham and Deborah L. Carr; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above; and sister, Margaret Hoyt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Monday, April 12, 2021 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4790 N. Shadeland Avenue, with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Fishers, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
