Roberta Ann Edson Dyer

October 13, 1938 — April 13, 2017

Roberta Ann Edson Dyer, 78, went to Heaven 4/13/2017 fromher home in Chesterfield. She was bornon 10/13/1938 in Genesee County, Michigan to Robert and Frances Edson.

Roberta earned her Bachelor’s degree from AndersonUniversity, then her Masters in Music from Ball State. She was a school teacher, then worked atAnderson University for twenty-four years in administration and procurement.

Roberta learned to play the piano and violin at an earlyage. She played the trumpet in the highschool band and sang in the choir. Shesang in the AU choir all four years of her study. She enjoyed classical music and flowers. Shewas very proud to establish the Robert and Frances Edson Endowment Fund whichprovides transportation assistance to student teachers going overseas.

Most of all, Roberta loved her family. When she and Dale travelled it was to seefamily. They went to Okinawa and Germanywhen grandchildren were born.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dale; children,Carol Dyer, Colleen Lyons (Lou), James Dyer (Sang-Eun), Cayla Dyer (Laura) andJoan Williams (Tim); grandchildren, Lauren Markitanov (Demitri,) Lydia Lyons,Sydney Lyons, Iris Dyer, and Isaac Dyer; and great-grandchildren, ThaddeusMarkitanov and Pheneus Markitanov.

Preceding Roberta in death are her parents and infantdaughter, Sarah Lou.

Services are April 18, 3:00 PM at East Side Church ofGod. Visitation is 1:00-3:00.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Robertand Frances Edson Endowment Fund at Anderson University.
