Roberta N. Ward, 91, a lifetime resident of Indianapolis's westside, peacefully passed away at the Brownsburg Health Care Center. Born on August 23, 1932, in Onaway, Michigan, Roberta was known for her warm and kind personality that endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In her professional career, Roberta, a dedicated clerical worker for Von Duprin Co., excelled as an employee, bringing diligence and dedication to her role at the manufacturing company. Her contribution to the company was invaluable and left a lasting impression on her colleagues.
Outside of work, Roberta's true joy came from spending time with her beloved family. In 1953, Roberta married her husband, Robert Ward, who shared many beautiful years by her side. As their family grew, she was a devoted mother to her children Pamela Smith, Patricia Malone, and Paul Ward.
Roberta's love extended beyond her immediate family to include her grandchildren, whom she adored looking after. Her famous meatloaf and macaroni and cheese were always a hit during family gatherings, creating fond memories that will be cherished forever.
Apart from her dedication to family, Roberta found solace in hobbies such as reading romance novels and enjoying a game of bowling. She cherished the summer months spent outdoors but often humorously noted her tendency to get sunburned despite taking precautions.
Left to cherish Roberta's memory are her children: Pamela (Ronald) Smith, Patricia Malone, and Paul Ward; her grandchildren: Autumn Lenton (Jermaine Turentine), Robert (Erica) Mayfield, Shawn (Rodney) Giffin, Stephanie (James) Cranny, and Cody Jacob Smith; and great-grandchildren: Adrien Lenton, Antwaun Lenton Jr., Robert Mayfield Jr., Lillie Mayfield, Jacob Goebel, and Lea Giffin. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ward.
