Rose Marie Mascari

Rose Marie Mascari, 87 years young, passed away March 26, 2018, in Fishers, IN. She was born on October 7, 1930 to the late Acia and Berneice (Burns) Soots. Rose was a sister to the late Jean (Soots) Via and the late Acia “Tom” Soots. She was a wife of 61 years to the late John A. Mascari. Rose worked in many secretary jobs, and retired from the IRS audit appeals division.

Rose was a special lady and will be remembered for her gentle, big smile, embracing arms, caring, kind, positive words, strength, love of nature, gardening and reading. She loved being surrounded by family and friends. Rose has touched so many people in so many ways throughout her life, and has brought joy to all of them.

Rose is survived by her children, Anne Mascari and Ed Wade, Elizabeth Mascari, and John A. Mascari II; grandson, John A (Melissa Turner) Mascari III; in-laws, Thomas (Gene) Mascari, Frank (Rose) Mascari, Lucy Mascari, Barbara Mascari, and Patty Mascari; many nieces and nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by in-laws, Salvatore (Mary) Mascari, Josephine (Joe) Kretzer, August (Ruth) Mascari, Twin Michael Mascari, Anthony Mascari, Joe Mascari, Paul Mascari, and Leo Mascari.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10am on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4650 N. Shadeland Avenue. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes all donations for masses for the repose of Rose’s soul or donations go to either the Indiana Heart Association or the Indiana Diabetes Association.
