Ross D. Moffitt

Ross D. Moffitt, 82 died peacefully in his sleep on July 30, 2021 in Greencastle, Indiana in the company of his family.  Ross was born on November 29, 1938 in Carmel, Indiana to Maurice and Elsie Moffitt both deceased.  He grew up with brothers Don (deceased), Bob, Quentin, and sister Ann (deceased).  He was drafted in the Army upon graduation from Carmel High School and served for 6 years.  After release from the service he returned to Carmel and began a long and rewarding career as a barber.  He cut the hair of generations of Hoosiers and was a well liked and respected member of the local community.  An avid football and race fan he rarely missed an event, always attending with family or friends.  His true passion was golf which he played his entire adult life whenever weather permitted.  He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and was recently awarded his 50 year pin.  He was a wonderful father and is survived by his 3 children and their spouses: Beth and Tim Davidson, Kim and Paul Guinee, Doug and Bernadette Moffitt and 6 grandchildren Brooke, Amanda, Jordan, Ryan, David, Meghan and great grandchildren Nate, Katie, and Porter. Also survived by his former wife and mother of his children Shari Webster.  A celebration of life will be held on August 16, 2021 visitation from 11-1, service at 1:00 at Northview Christian Church 12900 Hazel Dell Parkway Carmel, IN where Ross attended.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society – cancer.org or 1-800-227-2345.
