Roy Donald Cottrell

Roy Donald Cottrell, 70, passed away on June 4, 2018 after an extended illness. He was born on November 19, 1947 to the late Norman and Wilma (Mattingly) Cottrell.
Roy was retired after 36 years in the auto industry with Delco Remy. He spent his retirement enjoying Nascar and baseball. He was his grandsons number one fan during little league games. Roy found peace and serenity in the fellowship community in his 14+ years in a 12-step program. His positive influence as a volunteer and counseling support earned him the reputation of being a brother, father, son, and friend to many.
Roy is survived by his three children Carmen Hall (Jeff), Kristen Suter (Jeff), and Wesley Cottrell (Leah); grandchildren Caleb Hall (Brittney), Michael Suter (Melaney), Dakota Hall, Abigail Heffernan, Cory Cottrell, Benjamin Cottrell, and Justin Cottrell; great-grandchildren Caroline Hall and Dexter Hall; and very special friend Anita Wiley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the a charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Roy.
Visitation will be held on June 7, 2018 from 12-1:30pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services – Anderson. Funeral Services will follow at 1:30pm. Cremation rites were accorded.
