Roy A. Jeffers, age 68, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on February 9, 2025, in Anderson, after a long hard-fought courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 30, 1956, Roy was a lifelong resident of Anderson and a proud graduate of Anderson High School, Class of 1975.
Roy dedicated his career as a Maintenance Technician, lending his skills to various establishments, including the Holiday Inn, Longfellow Plaza, and St. Mary's. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in everything he did, earning him the respect of colleagues and patrons alike.
A loving family man, Roy found immeasurable joy in spending time with his son, Daniel. Whether casting lines while fishing or cheering at wrestling matches, Roy remained devoted to creating lasting memories with his family. His ornery yet stubborn personality was a testament to his loyalty and love for those around him.
In addition to his devotion to his family, Roy had a passion for the outdoors, often retreating to his lake cottage, where he could enjoy fishing, which brought him peace and fulfillment. He was also an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and a steadfast supporter of the Anderson Indians Basketball team, holding season passes for both and always making sure his son Daniel got to go to as many games as possible.
Roy is remembered not only for his accomplishments and interests but also for his unwavering commitment to being a devoted dad, a role he cherished above all else.
Roy is survived by his best friend Lori Morrison; siblings Rita Wilson (John) and John Jeffers; nieces and nephews Daniel Butler (Janna), Tracie Ellis (Steve), Brian Danforth, Joe Danforth; special great-nephew Blake Ellis (Heaven); several other nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friend Miriam May; loving dog Gizmo; Uncles Phil Bunch, Gene Jeffers; and Aunt Joyce Moore (Bob).
He is preceded in death by his son Daniel, mother Betty Loyd, stepfather Roy Loyd, Father Oliver "Sandy" Jeffers, brother Barry Danforth, grandparents Joseph and Merle Etchison, Ellen Bicknell and Albert Jeffers, and siblings Charles Loyd, Michael Loyd, and Beverly Slayton.
Visitation will be held on February 18, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 2PM at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services - Anderson location, 504 W 9th St, Anderson, IN 46016. A graveside service will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal Protection League in memory of Roy.
