Sam S. Taylor Iii

June 30, 1955 — December 30, 2020

Indianapolis, IN

Life is a journey! Sam was born and lived his life in Indianapolis. He graduated from IPS, Howe High School and earned a BS from Indiana University. Sam loved life, his family, friends, and our pets. This gentle spirit, “Sam I am” fought a good eastside kid fight against the demon cancer. With Sword in hand, this gentile spirit with a heart full of love and kindness for everyone; marched out of this crazy world into the eternal life promised to him and will be greeted by his parents Sam Jr and Mary (Ashcraft) Taylor and his best friend Dale Wolcott.

Sam is survived by his friend and wife, Cindy (Goodwin) Taylor, the “son” he loved and cared for, Andrew Edwards, the parents he adopted, Sandy and Harry Goodwin, his brothers and sisters, Tom and Carol (Pershing) Taylor, Beth (Taylor) and Michael Ford, Scott Goodwin, the nieces and nephews he loved, Ben, Christina, Becca, Drew, Allyson, Kevin, Tyler, and Lindsey, great nieces, Myra, Payson and Margot, and his granddaughter of choice, “Poppy’s sweet girl”, Riley.

Sam had a large family created of both the family he was born into and his family by choice. Sam never met a stranger. He left every party, event, social gathering, and trip having enjoyed getting to know someone new.

Sam will be laid to rest in private graveside service on Monday, January 4, 2021. When the world is a healthier place there will be a celebration of Sam party where all who loved and cared for him will be invited.

Sam requested that in lieu of flowers, condolences be contributed to Indy Humane (Humane Society of Indianapolis), via designated account at Old National bank, Cynthia Taylor for the benefit of Sam Taylor, or direct contribution to Indy Humane.

Remember Sam and smile! Live in grace, peace and love for one another!
