Samuel John Armstrong was born on Friday December 6, 1957 in Warren, Ohio to David and Jeanette Armstrong. He passed away Saturday August 8, 2020 at IU Methodist Hospital due to heart issues. He is survived by his wife Annette Armstrong in Indianapolis, Indiana two daughters Lisa Armstrong ( Joey Ashworth) in Geneva, Ohio and Amy Armstrong in Ashtabula, Ohio his step children Chris ( Bonna ) Cooney in Indianapolis, Indiana, Dominic ( Sylvia ) Sandfer in Indianapolis, Indiana, Patrick ( Stephanie ) Sandler in Indianapolis, Indiana, Tammy Maga in Indianapolis, Indiana grandchildren Destinee Hayden in Parma, Ohio Joseph Ventura in Ashtabula, Ohio step grandchildren Ayla, Penny, Mikey, Trish, little Dominic, Dalihla, Dajaih in Indianapolis, Indiana, brother David Armstrong in Geneva, Ohio and a sister Carolyn Armstrong in Cleveland, Ohio.
Sam was an over the road truck driver for 18 years and went into diesel mechanic for the next 15 years. He always had a good story about driving truck and what he got see while out on the road.
Sam loved camping, fishing, barbecuing and gardening his tomatoes. He was best known as Kid Sammy J and the tomato man. Some of his best memories were fishing in Canada with his friends that he considered family. He loved being able to teach his grandchildren his secrets to catch fish. If it was Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day you never needed an invite to stop over for a plate of food there was always plenty. His door was always open for friends or family no matter what time of the day it was. He will always be remembered to being a kid at heart.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held at the covered bridge in Geneva, Ohio date and time is still undecided.
