Sandra Washington

Sandra Washington, born on May 16, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away in her hometown on January 22, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, and proud graduate of Decatur Central High School.

From there she joined the military and spent time in the Women's Army Corp. Upon her return to Indianapolis, she spent a great deal of time volunteering with a neighborhood group working toward the betterment of her local community, even making a couple of trips to Washington DC in the pursuit of these goals. A large amount of her free time was dedicated to her skills in crocheting. Countless hours were spent creating beautiful pieces for her friends and family. Her craftsmanship was not just a hobby, but a way to express her love and connection to those she held dear. 

She is survived by her daughter Norma Trusler, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as numerous godchildren. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents George R and Norma Ruby Trusler and eight beloved siblings.
