Sarah Helen Barrett

Sarah Helen Barrett passed away in her home in Lawrence, Indiana on July 29th 2021. Sarah was born September 14, 1947 to Pauline and Chester Pierce. Sarah was the youngest of 4 daughters, Dorothy, Margaret (deceased), and Marilyn.

Sarah is survived by her children: Danny, Melissa, and Keith, along with 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Sarah enjoyed volunteering in the nursery at her church, crocheting baby blankets, and family meals. She was an avid sports fan, never missing a Colts game, if she could help it. Sarah loved her family more than anything. Throughout the years she hosted barbeques and birthday parties, planned trips to the zoo, fairs, Circuses and the occasional Pacer’s game.

Sarah was instrumental in raising not only her children, but her grandchildren as well. She even nannied her great-grandson, Zeke, for the first year of his life so that his mom could work part time to support their family while also going back to school for her master’s degree. Sarah was incredibly generous, offering to lend a hand or an ear whenever possible. She cared deeply about the well-being of others and had a passion for taking care of their needs.

Her family prays that Sarah continues to watch over them in heaven and that she is having the grandest time singing her favorite worship songs right next to Jesus.
