Sheela Lynn Bundy

July 27, 1958 — March 11, 2025

Sheela Lynn (Punkin) Bundy came into this world on July 27th 1958 as a true Leo. She was born in Cincinnati Ohio, but spent most of her life in Norwood with family ties to Cadiz KY where she spent time as a child. At the time of her passing on March 11, 2025, she lived in Anderson Indiana where her spirit undoubtedly left an incredible mark on everyone she met along her life. She never met a stranger and you were instantly family.

To say Punkin was the life of a party is an understatement. She was the heartbeat that kept the music going and the laughter flowing. She loved to talk on the phone and sometimes that came at all hours of the night. However, that was when you were on her mind. Punkin loved to play house poker. There are so many memories around cards. She taught her grandkids poker very early on and even had them use money and never cheated them out of it. Ask her oldest grandkids what game they remember with her, will always be 21 and in her words, you have to show when you have 21.

Her days were always filled with music from Jackson 5, to Chilites, to Loretta Lynn, Barry White and so on. She loved music. There wasn’t a song she didn’t know. Give her a few lyrics or a beat and she knew it. Punkin loved family get togethers and never wanted them to end.

Punkin is preceded in death by her mother that she missed so much, Verna Hacker nee Darnell. Her father J.B. Hail. Two sisters that she loved dearly, Joyce (Pug) and Dorothea(Doodle), her nephew Rickey Lee and her great granddaughter Oaklee Mae.

Punkin leaves behind four kids that will greatly miss everything about her, all of it. Donitta/Boo (Shaun), Donnie Jr.(Gretchen), Chayne and Emily. She also leaves behind grandkids that she left forever lasting impressions on. They will miss her stories and her messages that came through with a period after every word. Punkin had the grandkids also call her “Punkin” because she was too young to be a grandma. She lovingly leaves behind Austin, Jordan, Maelynn, Deven, Gabby, Tayler and her little buddy Myles who called her “Punk”. Punkin also had 6 great grandchildren Adeline, Oaklee, Layla, Lilliah, Noah and DJ that will get to hear all the stories about her from those that loved her the most.

In addition to her kids and grandkids, Punkin loved her siblings. She leaves behind Priscilla”Pris” Corbin, Rodger “Rook” Hail (Denise), Terry “Duke” Hail(Barb), Pam “Dolly” Felix(Jeff) and Marty Hail Sr. Punkin leaves behind a handful of nieces and nephews that she knew all of their birthdays but remained very close to Alta Plunkett, Julie Deaton and Marty Jr. and loved them so much. Punkin has many friends and way too many to list that she loved and knew for many years. She will be deeply missed by Cindy Bishop and Lil Debbie Corey. I didn’t use married names for these friends as Punkin never did either when discussing these two.

The family has chosen not to have a funeral but will be planning a get together in the August in Cincinnati that Punkin would have wanted everyone to be at. Punkin left impressions on all listed and will not be easily forgotten. We take comfort knowing that she probably got her “Saturday night britches” back on, teased her streaked hair and danced in to her final resting place to “Brickhouse” .
