Sheila Rose Short, 78, passed away at Community Hospital in Anderson on December 11, 2017. She was born to John and Ethel (Day) Burkert on August 17, 1939 in Alexandria.
Sheila worked as a cashier in many stores in Anderson. She loved to play poker with her husband, Andrew. She enjoyed watching TV, especially game shows. She also made the best vegetable soup. Most of all, she loved being with her family and watching her grandchildren grow.
Left to treasure Sheila’s memory is her son, Tim (Amy) Short; sister, Virginia McGrady; grandchildren, Tesha (Dustin) Frost, Tia Short (Bobby), Anthony Short, Kasey Short, Shelby Short, Cody Short, and Brandy (Joseph, Jr.) Emmons; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Emily, Bobby, Britelyn, Kaylen, Ashlynn, Malayla, Dalton, Elijah, Elizabeth, Natalie, Addison, Alleyah, Brittnay, Barbara, and one yet to be born; one great-great-grandson, Keyon; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Joyce) Short, Jim (Lorinna) Short), Shelby (Mildred) Short, and Edward (Mary) Short; and special friends, Jane and Bob Heath, Brenda Vaughn, Frances and Roger Phillips, and Josephine Wright and family.
Preceding Sheila in death are her parents; husband, Andrew Short in 2014; daughter, Brenda; several sisters and one brother; and her precious dog, Miss Jewels.
Visitation is Wednesday, December 20 from 12:00 until 1:00 PM at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services. The service is at 1:00 with Pastor Joe Roysden officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
The family wished to express deep gratitude for the love and financial support of family and friends that assisted in helping with final arrangements.
