Shelby Louise Edinger (Chittenden), 64, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2021, in the company of her loving family. She was born on January 1, 1957 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to Jesse Chittenden and Mary (Smith) Eaks. Shelby graduated from North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, and
later studied graphics art design and medical coding. She served in the United States Air Force from 1975—80. Shelby worked as a supply clerk at Walmart and Meijer for many years. Shelby was a born-again Christian and eager to tell others the Good News.
Shelby loved her family, and she enjoyed caring for her cats, using her green thumb skills on her plants, being on the lookout for eclectic and unique chairs, and cooking and eating a healthy diet (including chocolate chip cookies). She was an avid Bible student and online researcher. Throughout her illnesses, Shelby staunchly remained as independent as possible.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jesse Chittenden, and step-mother, Barbara Chittenden.
Shelby is survived by her mother, Mary Eaks; siblings, Karla Poer (David) of Martinsville, Indiana, and Stephen Chittenden (Monique) of Dewitt, Michigan; nieces and nephews, Abigail Chittenden, Joshua Clevenger (Chloe), Anna Justus (Luke), and Miranda Spees; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 12:30pm to 1:30pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, with a service to start at 1:30pm. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Fishers, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Third Phase Christian Center, Noblesville, Indiana.
