Sherrice Y. Wooten-Thompson

Sherrice Y. Wooten-Thompson was born to Felix J. Wooten and Brenda C. Collier on November 24, 1961 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sherrice was educated through the Indianapolis Public School System. She later attended Ivy Technical College in the Human Services Division. At an early age, Sherrice found the Lord while attending Vacation Bible School.

Sherrice married Kelvin K. Thompson in 1992 and they were happily married for over 20 years.

Sherrice spent most of her time caring for her mother, children, grandchildren and church. She loved to Praise and Worship at Sha’Arey Yeshua Congregation (Rabbi Jeff Adler). Sherrice was also a volunteer at the Wheeler Mission Shelter.

Serrice was a very kind-hearted, helpful, humble and loving person. She loved her children, family and friends very much.

Sherrice Y. Wooten-Thompson departed this life on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 7:30 in the morning at the age of 56. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelvin K. Thompson and her father, Felix J. Wooten.

Sherrice leaves to cherish her loving memory, her mother, Brenda C. Collier-McKinney; four children, LaSeanna S. Rice, LaMeisha C. Moore, Louis F. Board and Jesse D. Strong Jr.; two stepchildren, Travis T. Bell and Kelvin K. Bell; two brothers, Roosevelt McKinney Jr. and Patrick Wooten; three sisters, Victoria L. Seymour, Phyllis Wooten and Tena Wooten; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 12pm on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with visitation starting at 11am until the time of service. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
