Sherry Alma Coupland

Sherry Alma Coupland, 71, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 16, 2021. She was born at Camp Lejeune, NC on April 11, 1950 to Arthur and Sarah (Delk) Apon. Sherry grew up in Putney, Georgia. She attended Dougherty High School, graduating in 1968.

Sherry met her husband of 53+ years, Ronald Coupland, at a friend’s wedding, and were together ever since. They moved up to Indianapolis after the wedding, where they raised their 4 daughters.

Sherry was never one to be still. She was successful in corporate jobs as well as owning her own business. She was a lover of fine arts, God’s creation, His Word and her family. She always had a project ready to start before she finished the current one. Sherry always made certain that she looked her best no matter what she was doing.

She is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Apon & younger brother Bobby Apon.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Ronald Coupland; daughters, Sandy(& husband Allen), Michelle(& husband Dave), Peggy(& husband Bryan), Mckenzie(& husband Gary), 14 Grandchildren, as well as 3 Great grandchildren. Her mother, Sarah (Delk) Apon, of Georgia; her older brother, Wayne Apon. And many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be at 2pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a gathering to start at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hope Center Indy.
