Shirley L Kelley

Shirley L. Kelley, age 71, of Anderson, passed away on June 14, 2020 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born on December 28, 1948 to the late William and Geraldine Bryant.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She attended Mounds Baptist Church in Anderson for 50 years alongside her husband and children. She was active in her church and taught Sunday School and Children’s Church for as long as she could. Shirley was known to most in her church as the “Candy Lady.” She was deep in her faith and was proud to love her Lord. Throughout her life, Shirley worked as her church secretary, taught swimming at the YMCA, and was constantly rescuing any animal in need. She loved to spend time in her garden and tending to her flowers. She was an avid nature lover, loving to watch her birds, and take care of the neighborhood cats. Shirley was a wonderful woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 53 years Richard Kelley; Children Amber Kelley of Nokomis, FL and Sean Kelley (Milica) of Palatine, IL; Sister Sharen Vasey, of Anderson, IN; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents listed above.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Kidney Fund or any Dialysis Center in memory of Shirley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Mounts Baptist Church, 3001 Mounds Rd, Anderson, IN 46016, at 2pm on Saturday, June 20, 2020. Cremation was chosen through Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services – Anderson.
