Sonja worked as a machine operator for Bridgestone Firestone in Noblesville, and she retired after 30 years of service from the company on May 1, 1996. Her retirement gave Sonja time to enjoy her many hobbies. She particularly liked solving crossword puzzles, watching QVC and Family Feud, as well as Westerns. Sonja also appreciated reading a good book, and her favorite genres were autobiographies and history books. In addition to these hobbies, Sonja was a baker who delighted her family and friends with delicious Christmas cookies and candies that she made with loving care. Lastly, she also enjoyed being a “Mom” to her two Yorkies: Rudy and Bitty.
Sonja is survived by her son, James (Rhonda) Sheridan; her daughters: Dawn Sheridan and Paula (Robert) Young; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. There will not be a public funeral service per Sonja’s wishes; however, a Celebration of Life for her friends and family will be taking place either this Fall or this coming Spring in 2024.
“Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.”
