Sue Ellen Calvin, 68, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6th at IU Methodist Hospital.

Sue was born in Indianapolis, IN to George and Helen Taylor on June 14th 1951.  Being born on Flag Day, she was very Patriotic and loved the American Flag.  She went to Northwest High School in Indianapolis, IN.,   graduating in 1969.  After graduating high school, she started her career at Indianapolis Life Insurance Company where she worked for 34 years, retiring in 2003.  Sue was a hard worker who dedicated her life to serving others.  She spent many of her years volunteering at Eagledale Little League in many roles and Greater Northwest Football League, serving as a former president.  She was a Christian and spent many of her Sundays volunteering at Speedway Christian Church and especially loved being in the baby room.  She was an active member in Tarum Court #14 Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America. She served as the organization’s High Priestess 2009-2010 and was committed to supporting the 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children whom offer no cost treatment for several diagnoses.  Sue loved her family very much and found ways to support them throughout her life.  She especially loved her grandchildren and watching them play sports.

Sue is survived by her three sons, John Calvin, Brandon Calvin (Heather), Nick Calvin; three sisters, Leslie Condre (Gunner), Nancy Watson (Tony), Barbara Tafflinger; one brother, Mark Taylor; several nieces and nephews; two grandchildren, Jocelyn Calvin, Austin Calvin.  Preceded in death by her mother and father George and Helen Taylor

Family, Friends, and others whose lives Sue touched are invited to her Celebration of  Life at the Murat Temple, Corinthian room, 510 N New Jersey St, Indianapolis, Sunday March 15th from 1-4pm, services at 4pm and refreshments to follow.  Enter Alabama street parking lot entrance between North and Michigan Street.  In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to Shriners Hospital for Children of your choice through Tarum Court # 14 LOSNA.
