Sylvia Verplank

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Sylvia Verplank, on December 2, 2024. Surrounded by her loving family, she departed this world peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories.

Sylvia was a devoted mother to her daughter Theresa Begert and a proud grandmother to Jeremy Begert (wife Hanna Begert) and Tiffany Begert. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Kinsley DeBlaso, Theodore Begert and Leonardo Begert, who lit up her life with their laughter and love.

Sylvia is also survived by her dear sister Shirley Lindop, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and unbreakable bonds.

Sylvia’s warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her gift of storytelling, and the deep relationships she cultivated throughout her life.

A celebration of Sylvia’s remarkable life will take place at Washington Park Cemetery North in June of 2025. Theresa will post further details on specific date and times. All who knew and loved her are invited to gather in her honor.

Her family takes solace in knowing that Sylvia is now reunited with those who preceded her, and her radiant spirit will forever remain in their hearts.
