Teresa Ann Maynard

Teresa Ann Maynard, 72, of Indianapolis passed away on April 17th 2020, at Methodist Hospital. She was born on November 27, 1947 to Ethel and J.C. Mayes in Morristown, Tennessee. Teresa’s family soon moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she graduated from Harry E. Wood High School.

Teresa is survived by her children John (Randy) Maynard Jr.; Mark Maynard and wife Angela; granddaughter, Rebecca Maynard, and partner Charles Handschumacher; great-grandson, Dale Handschumacher. She is also survived by her two sisters, Jeanette Mayes/Moore, and Diane Mayes/ Speer and husband Phil.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and J. C. Mayes. She is also preceded in death by her husband and father of her two children, John Maynard Sr.

Teresa loved spending time and laughing with her family and friends. She was the type of person who never knew a stranger and always offered to help people. She always offered a cup of coffee to anyone who came to her house. She never made anyone feel uncomfortable. She loved to be outdoors and enjoyed feeding her local cardinals and squirrels in her backyard. Teresa also enjoyed a good day of fishing or a good country song. She was always finding something new to bake. She also loved to learn about where her family originated from. Teresa helped raise and guide her great-grandson until her last day here on Earth.
Teresa was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She valued the time spent with family and spent every day with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
