Teresa Gibson

November 21, 1964 — July 23, 2024

Middletown

Teresa Gay (Torres) Gibson of Middletown, IN was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and nurse. She left this world surrounded by her family after a long, tough battle with scleroderma and its related conditions on July 23, 2024.

Teresa was born in Fort Worth, TX on November 21, 1964, to Robert Torres and Frances (Cox) Thompson. She enjoyed country music; George Strait was one of her favorites and going out dancing. You would find her with her cowboy starched jeans with pleats, they were starched so much they could stand on their own, tucked nicely into her signature cowboy boots. It was in Texas her nursing career started. She worked as a CNA doing in-home care and began taking LPN classes before moving to Indiana. She worked for years at Henry County Hospital in New Castle. Her heart was so large she loved all her patients and cared for them the same way she would her own family.

Teresa was a devoted wife to her husband of 38 years, Dennis Gibson, who cherished every second he was able to spend with the most loving woman he'd ever met. Her children were her pride and joy. She gave birth to two wonderful sons Johnathan (Heather Dick) Gibson and Nicholas Gibson. She had two stepchildren Chris (Mandy) Gibson and Carrie Gibson whom she loved as if she had brought them into the world herself. Her love had no bounds when it came to all four of her children. They felt that in the support she lovingly provided.

She took special joy in being a grandmother. She beamed with pride when visiting with her grandchildren; Devan Harris, Caden (Hannah Rhoades) Gibson, Pj Corsaro, Ryan Corsaro, Brycen Gibson, Cambree Dick and Raylee Gibson. She was blessed with three great grandchildren Adalynn Harris, Haisley Gibson and baby boy Gibson due in November. Her time with her grands and great grands was far too short but the support, love and guidance she will continue to provide from heaven will be felt and cherished for their entire lives.

Teresa loved going to the fair, especially with the grandkids. She could be seen sharing a lemon shake-up and some delicious fair food with Dennis. She loved to stop at the vendors and collect all the free items available, there wasn't a free pen or drawstring bag she didn't like. She found joy in little things most people take for granted or ignored.

She leaves behind her husband, children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren. Along with her brothers Joey Baker, Thomas (Vanessa)and Chris (Jeannine) Torres. Her sister in laws Jeannie (Bud) Perry, Darlene Abston, Tina Gibson and Diane Gibson. Her nieces and nephews; Gage (Chasity) Baker, Mya Baker, Tyson Baker, Crystal Martinez, Gabrielle Martinez, Abigail Martinez, Trowa, Oliver, Vincent, Bianca (Jessica Watson) Torres, Ciera (Joshua) Torres and other loving family members. Her cousin Tina Noe and best friend Darlene Brooks cared for and kept in contact with Teresa with the love of sisterhood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Frank and Betty Guenthenspberger, brothers; Robert "Bubba" Torres Jr, Tommy Torres, Daniel "Danny" Torres, her brother in-laws; Gary Gibson and Dale Gibson. Also, her furry companions Missy & Maggie. Teresa's wishes were to be cremated with no services and the family will be honoring those wishes.
