Therese Ann LaRochelle passed away to be with her Heavenly Father 4/16/2020. She was 80 years old. Therese Ann LaRochelle was born Therese Ann Sheehan Feb. 2, 1940 in Beech Grove, IN. As a child, Therese attended St. Phillip Neri Catholic School. Therese attended and graduated from Scecina Memorial High School. Her parents were Frances and Patrick Sheehan. Preceeding her in death by her parents and three brothers, Bernard Sheehan, Patrick “Sonny” Sheehan and Johnny Sheehan. Therese is survived by her five children, Elizabeth LaRochelle, Michael LaRochelle, Julie Wilson, Diane Seward and Denise LaRochelle.

Therese devoted her life to God and the Church. She worked as a secretary, taught CCD, cantered, participated in choir and organized retreats at Fatima Retreat House. She was heavily involved in the Charismatic Renewal Organization. She was a true spiritual witness to everyone with her time spent visiting nursing facilities and prisons, volunteering for the Pregnancy Crisis Center and her involvement with many types of spiritual conventions.

Therese was an amazing Christian mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. She loved to travel with her family whenever she could and most of all she loved the ocean and the peace she felt near it. Looking at the clouds in the beautiful sky, she would always comment about how amazed she was with God’s creation and she would speak of this with no hesitation. Her passion for life was shown in the Christian songs she wrote for most of her adult life. She recorded many tapes of her music and would share them with others at many of the churches and functions she attended. She loved to be at the gatherings where people would be close to one another. She loved to organize family “pitch ins” with the many wonderful and delicious dishes everyone brought to share for the feast. In recent years, she had been anxious and excited to play her weekly bingo to win her choice of prizes on a tray. She was always thrilled to share her winnings with her family as they visit. Her smile and laughter would say it all, especially when she had won the “cover all” and get to pick three prizes off the tray. She would be even more excited and felt blessed to be able to share her bingo experience or watch a movie on Hallmark and eat popcorn with her daughters. Her eyes would light up when someone would just mention dark chocolate. It was her favorite. Playing euchre alongside her daughter and drinking her favorite root beer float always brought her happiness. She wanted to share everything with her family, including her deep seeded spiritual beliefs that our main goal on earth is to have faith, live and love as a Christian and know that God sent his only son, Jesus, to die on a cross for us so that we may have an eternal life in Heaven. She lived her life on earth teaching all of us this. Her job is done on earth, and she has reached her goal in life. Therese is now the happiest ever as she is now an angel joined with the Heavenly Father above.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence. Therese’s funeral service will be minimal, brief and safe. She will be celebrated for her life here on earth knowing that her spirit is rejoicing and singing her music along with the other angels in the Heaven above.
