Mrs. Victoria Ford-Smith was born on December 22, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to Robert and Emma (Richey) Ford. She graduated from Crispus Attucks High School and was married thereafter to Roy Austin Smith. To this union, two children were born.
Victoria was employed by RCA and Indianapolis International Airport where she retired. She could create anything with her hands, whether that was a wonderful meal, sewing, knitting, or crocheting a dress with or without a pattern, or painting a picture or a house.
Victoria was affectionately known to us as Ms. Vicky, Cammie, Gay-Gay, Vick, Aunt Vicky, and Mother. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Robert and Emma Ford, and her brother, Robert Ford Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving son, Roy Austin Smith, Jr., an affectionate daughter, Deborah A. (Wilbert) Payne, five grandchildren, Robyn D. Payne, Randyn D. (Elizabeth) Payne, Rhemma D. Payne, Roryck D. Payne, and Andrea Nicole Denning, as well as four great-grandchildren, Corey D. Denning Payne, Victoria M. Payne, Isabel R. Payne, and Beatrice R. Payne born 12 hours before her Great-Grandmother’s passing. She will also be missed by a host of relatives and friends by blood and love.
