Virginia M. Pierce

Virginia M. Pierce, born on December 14, 1945, in Anderson, Indiana, passed away on November 22, 2024, in her hometown. A devoted wife and stay-at-home mom, Virginia exemplified the qualities of love and care throughout her life, devoting herself to the well-being of her family.

Virginia's commitment to her family was unwavering, as she made it a priority to raise her children in the nurturing environment of the Main St. Church of God in Anderson, where she attended for many years. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and greatly influenced those around her.

An individual who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, Virginia had a range of hobbies that brought her joy. She cherished coloring, listening to music, and spending time in her garden, where she lovingly tended to plants and flowers. These hobbies not only reflected her creative spirit but also her willingness to create beauty in her surroundings.

Throughout her life, Virginia took great pride in ensuring that her family was well cared for, and her proudest accomplishment was being a devoted mother. Her loving nature and caring disposition left a profound impact on her loved ones, who will remember her with fondness and gratitude. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. 

Virginia is survived by her husband Clifford Pierce Jr.; children Angie Purkey (Chris Switzer), Christina Pierce, and Clifford Pierce III; grandchildren Tyler Purkey, Joshua Purkey, Christopher Dooley, Cody Dooley, and Jonathan Piece; sister Carolyn McPhearson; several niece, nephews, and cousins. 

She is preceded in death by her grandson RJ Johnson and 14 brothers and sisters. 

A visitation will be held on Monday December 2, 2024 from 11am-12pm with a funeral service beginning at 12pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services - Anderson. 

Virginia M. Pierce will be deeply missed by those who knew her, but her legacy of love and commitment to family will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.
