Wendell Hunsucker

Wendell Hunsucker, 87, of Indianapolis, died on March 4 . He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the White River Yacht Club and the John Purdue Club. Mr. Hunsucker was retired from Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company. He graduated from Vallonia High School in 1946 and Purdue University in 1950. He was a staunch supporter of Purdue and was a season ticket holder for 65 years. He also loved the Indianapolis 500,attending since 1948.

He was born in Vallonia, IN on August 26, 1928 to the late John E. Hunsucker and Iva Griffin Hunsucker. After college he lived in Vallonia until 1967 when he moved to Indianapolis. Survivors include his children, Renee Purkis , Lana Klene, Eric Hunsucker, Jane (Al) Nuetzel of Indianapolis and Jay Hunsucker of Franklin. He also has 12 grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 7th at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis. Services at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 until time of service. A graveside service will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers please donate to Lawrence Township Foundation for the Ronald Klene Scholarship.
