Anderson

In loving memory of Wilbur Hammack II, born on January 15, 1956, in Noblesville, Indiana, to Wilbur Hammack I and Beverly (French) Brown. He peacefully departed this life on June 5, 2024.

Wil was a man of many talents and passions. His skilled hands crafted wonders in woodwork and metal fabrication, leaving behind a legacy of intricate creations. Whether tinkering with small engines, building furniture, or repairing intricate clocks, he found solace and joy in working with his hands.

His love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for camping and fishing, where he shared precious moments with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was at the heart of everything he did, and his dedication to them knew no bounds. A lover of music, Wilbur found joy in singing, filling the air with melodies that echoed the warmth of his spirit.

Among his many endeavors, Wil ran a clock repair business, affectionately known as ClocDoc, in Moores Hill, Indiana, where he shared his expertise and passion for precision craftsmanship. Additionally, he served as a pastor at Wilmington United Methodist Church near Aurora, Indiana, touching the lives of many through his words of wisdom and compassion. Prior to serving at Wilmington United Methodist Church, he was a member and a lay leader at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church (now Park Avenue) in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Wilbur Hammack had a long career as a machinist. He retired from Schwann's Food Service in Florence, Kentucky, in 2021, marking the end of a dedicated chapter in his life.

During his final years, Wil was lovingly cared for by his daughter, Patty Eaker, whose devotion and compassion provided comfort and support in his time of need.

Wil is survived by his daughters Patty (David) Eaker, Carolee Couch, and Kimberley McComb, as well as his son, Jamie (Theresa) Hammack. He leaves behind a rich legacy carried on by his eight grandchildren: Cy (Amanda) Bentley, Ceairra (Sean) Kampe, Cassondra (Josh) Winn, Theodore Couch, Catherine Hammack, Grace Hammack, William McComb, and Henry McComb. His memory is also cherished by his five great-grandchildren: Benjamin Winn, Elijah Winn, Levi Bentley, Brooks Bentley, and Brentlee Noblitt. He is also survived by his brother Jeffrey Hammack.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Susan Hammack, who passed away in January 2024, and his mother, Beverly Sue Brown, who departed in February of the same year.

Wilbur Hammack will be remembered for his legacy of love, compassion, and craftsmanship enduring through the ages. May he rest in eternal peace, his spirit forever cherished in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known him.
