William "Bill" R. Hamby

William R. Hamby 86, of Gaston, IN died January 21, 2022 at Community Hospital in Anderson. Bill was retired from General Motors. He spent most of his time fishing or riding his 4-wheeler. He loved teaching all his family and friends about fishing and sharing life stories. He spent the winters in Florida and loved it. He had a heart of gold and loved his family dearly. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. He was a member of Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Ruby M. Hamby. He is proceeded in death by his parents Henry A. & Artie M. Terry Hamby, his siblings Benjamin Earl Hamby, Johnny F. Hamby, Lillie M. Mills, Flora A. Mills, Chlora M. Comer, Cora F. Elroy, Clara J. O’Neil, And Earnest L. Hamby. Bill leaves behind several family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be planned and announced in the near future.
