William C. Tankersley

On July 28, 2021 William (Bill) C. Tankersley age 90 of Alexandria, Indiana left this earth to join
his loving wife of 59 years, Nola (Stelter) Tankersley.
Bill proudly served the US Army for 21 years. After retiring from the military Bill worked for and retired from General Motors. Bill was a member of the VFW and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, had a love for gardening and sharing with friends and family those fruits of the garden, and anyone knowing Bill knew his passion for playing Euchre whether it be Two handed Euchre or with his friends at the Union Hall.
Bill loved spending time with his family and proudly spoke of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Clay and Ruby (Grinder) Tankersley and several brothers and sisters. Son’s Patrick and Mona Tankersley and Phillip Tankersley.
Daughters Vicky Fairfield and Linda Tankersley.
Bill is Survived by Brothers David M. and Debby Tankersley of Anderson IN and Eric and Mary Tankersley of Muncie Indiana.
Daughters Diane and Pat Anderson of Sunset, SC, Sandra and Alvin Yanez of Noblesville, IN.
Sons Robert J. Tankersley of Alexandria and Terry and Marci Tankersley of Alexandria, IN, Brent and Heather Tankersley of Hendersonville, TN. As well as an abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special friend Ellen Besch.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetics Association.
Viewing will be Friday August 6 from 2-4 with services starting at 4 at Legacy Cremation-Funeral Services, Anderson IN.
Grandson Jordan Anderson will be giving the Eulogy with granddaughter Laci Giboney leading in prayer.
