William Dean Johnson

William Dean “Bill” Johnson Sr. of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away at the age of 79 on April 19, 2021. On December 10, 1941, Bill was born in Lebanon, IN, to the late Floyd and Opha (Evans) Johnson. Bill was a retired Bookkeeper, working at various businesses throughout Indianapolis.

Bill enjoyed camping, coin collecting, outdoor activities, and riding his riding lawnmower. He enjoyed spending time at the cabin fondly called “The Ridge” enjoying nature. He also enjoyed learning about history and watching nature documentaries. Bill was also a longtime lover of Corvette Cars.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Opha (Evans) Johnson along with his brother Rick Johnson, his daughter Sherri Andrews and grandson Christopher Stone.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 40 years, Sandy Johnson, children Terri Heldman (Richard), Sheila Howard, Gina Henson (Phil), William Johnson Jr., and son-in-law Mark Andrews. Sisters Connie Davison (Jim), Kathy Brock (Bill), and Vicki Babbitt (Barry Deceased). Grandchildren Tresanay, Shannon, Monica, Russell, Nickolas, Brandon, Eric, Crystal, Hannah, Samantha, and Mackenzie. Great-grandchildren Sydney, Wendell, Dylan, Nathan, Jordan, Paiton, Jace, and Isaac. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved doggy Gracie Lou.

Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a service to start at 1pm.
