William E. Thomas of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on April 5th, 2016 at the age of 75. William, more commonly known as 'Tom,' was born to Don & Earlene Thomas on Sep. 13, 1940 in Scottsville, KY. Upon graduating high school, Tom enlisted in the US Army where he served as a medic until 1964. Soon thereafter, on July 2, 1964, he married his beloved wife, Marie Thomas. Together, Tom & Marie raised their 3 daughters - Valerie, Tami, & Traci.

Tom made a career out of working for the railroad where he held numerous positions throughout his 31 years there. Tom had a profound passion for vehicles for the duration of his life, especially with one model in particular the Chevy Corvette.

William E. Thomas is survived by his wife Marie Thomas; his 3 children, Valerie Carter (Kevin), Tami Eastes (Todd), & Traci Lummis (Todd); his 6 grandchildren - Nicole Gray (Nathan), Jordan Lummis, David Carter (Ashley), Brittani Kemp (Trei), Hannah Lummis (Santino), & Alexi Eastes; & his 2 great-grandchildren, James Gray & Preston Gray; his 9 siblings - James Thomas (Patricia), Don Thomas Jr, Virginia Tharp, Patsy Johnson (Don), Glynn Thomas (Carol), Betty Yoder (Mike), Rosetta Risley, Eddie Thomas, & Kenneth Thomas (Nancy). He is preceded in death by his parents - Don & Earlene Thomas; & his 2 siblings - Wilma Albright-Prectel & Lawrence Thomas.

Visitation will be held on April 9,2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Drexel Garden Apostolic Tabernacle located at 5025 W. LeGrande Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46241. The funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation. Interment will be Monday April 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Indiana time zone at Shiloh Cemetery, 661 Old Franklin Rd. Scottsville, KY 42164. Followed by celebration of life in the sanctuary. Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services-Morris Street in charge of arrangements.
