Zina Marlene Gray was born on January 9, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Earl Pompey and Nettie Taylor. She was one of four siblings.
Zina accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Calvary Temple, attending faithfully every Sunday.
She dedicated her career to the medical field, working as a physical therapist at Methodist Hospital.
Zina had a passion for crocheting, playing DAD, and enjoying her many downloaded phone games. She absolutely adored her overly energetic dog, Shadow. Known for her headstrong and sometimes stubborn nature, Zina was a tireless fighter who persevered even in her toughest moments.
Zina was deeply loved for her witty, sarcastic, loving, nurturing, and welcoming personality. She never turned away anyone’s child and never met a stranger. Selfless and non-judgmental, she loved her friends and family without limits. She will be dearly missed.
Zina Marlene Gray departed this life on November 17, 2024. She was preceded in death by her son, Darrell Carnell, her parents, and all of her siblings. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her daughter, Kimberly Meyers; grandchildren, Robert (Regina) Sloan, Passion Young, I’iah Smith and many others that blood couldn’t make any closer; great-grandchildren, Amaris, Marion, Khamryn, Rhyan, and Rheign; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
